AIA Tampa Bay is a volunteer-led organization. ­Most of the programs and events that we conduct are led by AIA member volunteers, like you! ­We encourage members to get involved on a chapter committee. ­If you are interested in participating on one of our committees, please email chapter Executive Director, Dawn Mages, CAE. ­Contact chapter staff if you have questions, 813.229.3411. ­

Advocacy and Governmental Affairs
Committee is responsible for maintaining visibility and relationships with representatives and political leadership within the chapter’s territory, identifying opportunities for chapter involvement in issues relevant to the association’s mission, as well as chapter participation in state and national legislative programs.

Associate / ARE­­­
Plans ARE programs, IDP related programs, and oversees study material library.­ Also plans other Associate events and opportunities including the Student Firm Crawl with AIAS representative.­­

Communications­­| ­Media Relations
Works with staff on Member Communications, Website, Social Media, Media Relations

Continuing Education­
Plans all CE programs including monthly Eat and Educates

Design Awards Program & Celebrate Design Event­
Conducts Design Awards Program and Plans All Aspects of Celebrate Design Awards Event

Fellowship­
Identifies potential fellowship candidates and encourages and assists with their application

Gallery AIA
Promotes Architecture through Gallery exhibits at the Center for Architecture and Design, and Identifies and arranges architecture-related exhibits in other venues to promote the profession and AIA.

Golf Tournament
Conducts annual golf tournament to benefit the chapter’s scholarship program.

Honor Awards and Scholarships­
Committee is charged with encouraging and soliciting nominations for worthy candidates for the chapter’s honor awards, as well as the jury process and physical awards bestowed upon recipients.­ Also coordinates annual jury of student work to select scholarship recipient(s).

Membership
Plans Monthly Membership Meetings and leads and oversees membership retention and recruitment efforts per Membership Calendar in policy manual.­­

Nominating
Identifies potential board candidates and prepares slate for membership vote or acceptance­

Sporting Clays Event­­­
Conducts sporting clays tournament to benefit the chapter’s scholarship program.

Strategic Planning
Leads board planning for current year and/or leads the development of a multi-year strategic plan that aligns with the Institutes plan.­­­

Serve as liaison, work with and determine ways to support the new Foundation­
