Kenneth E Adum Pre K-8 Magnet School

VOTE NOW!

Description

The project objective was to demolish the existing Manhattan Elementary School to make way for a new state-of-the-art Pre-K-8 Magnet School in South Tampa. The new campus, designed to accommodate 1,800 students, was built on a 13-acre site and includes five buildings along with a range of modern amenities such as a pre-kindergarten playground, a full-sized soccer field, outdoor dining areas, and basketball courts. The project presented several significant challenges. These included low-lying grade elevations, a portion of the site located within a 100-year floodplain, limited space (half the typical size for a Pre-K-8 campus), and poor foundational soils beneath two of the largest buildings. Despite these obstacles, our team of engineers and architects developed innovative and cost-effective solutions to overcome each issue.
